Though written for children, it is still very much enjoyable by adults, too, and is a New York Times bestseller. I can't thank Carrie enough for introducing me to them. I won't try to write a review of these books; just go to Carrie's reviews, linked below.
- The Mysterious Benedict Society (This was her second time reading it...she linked to the first, though.)
- The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey
- The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma
I am absolutely thrilled to share that the prequel was published a few days ago. The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict just arrived at my home! A review will be coming soon! Before Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance began their adventures, Nicholas Benedict had his own problems and mysteries to solve.
{Now you will either understand this or not at all. My husband read the MBS after me, and since I am in the middle of another book or two, I suggested that he could read Nicholas Benedict before me. I just hope he reads fast! It's not the first time I have shared a book before reading it.}
If you or your child have never read these books, you can buy the first three books as a set for less than $15. Seriously, just grab them or go to your library! Also, consider going to a book signing. Trenton Lee Stewart is traveling throughout the nation...just not close to my tiny town. Will he come near your town?? Lucky you!! If not, you might be interested in this interview!
One last note before the giveaway: The first book has a big, wonderful surprise ending. Because of that, I would strongly suggest that you read these books in order, though I'm guessing the prequel can be read first, too. You'll have to ask my husband though...until I tell you here in a couple of weeks.
GIVEAWAY!
Giveaway is now closed. The winners have been contacted and are helpful heather, Barb K., and melinda ann. Congratulations!
