Hot ham and cheddar cheese all wrapped up in a little pinwheel. Delightfully simple and delicious, too!
Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups1 can refrigerated pizza crust or 20 minute bread dough
1/2 pound deli sliced ham (5-10 pieces)
2 cups cheddar cheese (or less, as desired)
Unroll pizza crust onto a floured surface. I used floured parchment paper because the dough is very sticky. Place ham in a single layer over the dough. (If you like a lot of ham you can overlap some.) Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
Roll dough into a "jelly roll" beginning on a long end. Pinch dough together at the seam (as pictured). Cut the rolled dough into twelve equal pieces. Place roll ups, about an inch or two apart, on a greased baking sheet or parchment paper. Bake at 350° for 14-19 minutes. Tops should be slightly brown.
Edited: Minced onion and bacon pieces make a tasty variation!
I was inspired by this recipe which uses homemade dough, but needed to keep my Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups easy.
Please Note:
~ These really are super easy!
~ You could also sprinkle some chopped onion with the cheese. Easily adaptable!
~ I served these warm, but they could be served cold.
~ Breakfast, anyone? My stepmom had the idea to take them to a ladies' breakfast.
~ The parchment paper made the cheese super easy to clean!
Enjoy!!
What would you put in a roll up?
That DOES look easy. And now I am super duper hungry. ;)
